Chick-fil-A lot goes to Collegedale, $1.1 million for tennis courts lights

Here’s a recap of a short Feb. 24 City Council meeting in which all of the Old Lee Highway Chick-fil-A joined Collegedale.

Chick-fil-A lot goes to Collegedale

Council approved transferring part of a Chick-fil-A parking lot at 8883 Old Lee Highway to the City of Collegedale. The rest of the restaurant and parking area were already within Collegedale city limits.

On Dec. 9, Council held a public hearing on the deannexation request.

Champions Club lights

Parks and Outdoors’ received approval for another $48,000 to light the Champions Club city-run tennis courts. Power at the courts will cost about $1.1 million this year.

Mayor’s appointees

The following appointments by Mayor Kelly were approved:

  • 🚖 Richard Sledge to the Passenger Vehicle for Hire and Wrecker Board. The board licenses and inspects taxis, tow trucks, horse-drawn carriages, and other service vehicles.
  • 🌳 Donna Shepherd to the Tree Commission. The commission makes recommendations about the city’s tree canopy and hears violations of the city’s tree ordinance.
