Stricter public comment rules rejected at County Commission
A resolution before the Hamilton County Commission on April 17 proposed changes to several meeting rules, including on public comments about non-agenda items. It did not pass as written. The public comment change would have required speakers to request permission for a post-meeting comment at least a week in advance. Commissioners passed an amendment deleting the public comment rule change and then voted in favor of the amended resolution.
Aside from commenting at the end of meetings, residents also have the power to speak in favor of or against resolutions as they come up for vote.
