About Chattamatters

Chattamatters is a civic education platform for all Chattanoogans. We explain local government and tell the stories that connect Chattanoogans to the place we call home.

Our approach is:
Educational. We create stories that help demystify local processes and respond to residents’ questions.
Explanatory. We break down complex topics and present the information you need to navigate life in Chattanooga.
Collaborative. We value our partnerships with other nonprofits and community members.

Chattamatters launched in 2022 as a program of The Enterprise Center, with funding from the City of Chattanooga. Most of our annual operating budget continues to come from The City of Chattanooga, with a small portion coming from reader contributions and grants.
